The Tibrarian's Corner | Two New Forms

I have been working on all kinds of activities for the students to do during these last few weeks of school, and I wanted to share two of them with you.The first is a book recommendation form.  I plan to have students use these whenever they read a great book and want to recommend it to other students.  These also have been the perfect activity for my third graders to work on once they have completed their research projects.  I think I will gather the coherent ones into a binder so that students who are looking for the next great read can flip through and find something that one of their peers has enjoyed.

The second is a basic research assignment that I am using with my “high flying” second graders.  The other students are doing animal research with specific questions that they have to answer, but this form is more open-ended for those students who are able to handle some more freedom.  You could really use this with any grade level, but it will work especially well with second and third graders.

I know the end of the school year can be a stressful time for all of us in the education world.  Just keep imagining yourself on the beach with a great book in your hand; that’s what is getting me through these last few days!
